This is the about me section.
As a seamstress and practicing Muslim, I create bespoke fashion for girls and women. Born in Egypt, I recently moved to Europe with my Anglo-German husband — a former teacher turned software developer. We now live in Darmstadt, Germany, where we attend a local mosque with family and friends. Whenever work and time allow, we travel back to Egypt.
My story...
- I was born and raised in Cairo, but my family is orginally from Menofia in the Nile Delta.
- After completing my Egyptian high school diploma, or 'Thanaweya Amma', I attended Ain Shams University, where I studied commerce.
- For a few years, I worked in marketing and accounting but found no fulfillment in spreadsheets and figures.
- Feeling bold, I joined The International School of Choueifat, New Cairo as an exam officer.
- At around that time, I also started to explore arts and crafts, such as photography, painting and sewing.
- Sewing has become my passion, and I have crafted all sorts of sartorial items for both myself and a wide range of clients.
- I eventually married one of the expat teachers at my school, Dr Sascha R Klement.
- We recently moved to Germany, where I work in the Frankfurt branch of Choueifat.
- But since sewing is my passion, I decided to pursue it semi-professionally as a self-employed seamstress.
- My husband has now left the teaching profession and works as web developer.
- I craft bespoke fashion for Muslim girls and women, who proudly and confidently practice their faith.
- Whenever time allows, my husband and I attend a local mosque, which caters to Muslims from diverse backgrounds.
- Don't hesitate to get in touch if you're looking for handmade modest fashion!
Egypt is both my home and my inspiration...
